This coffee table has a modern and futuristic design with a mix of materials and shapes that create a striking visual appeal.

Ideas driven
by passion.
This table embodies futuristic minimalism with touches of mid-century modern influences:
The floating illusion from the thin legs and open spaces recalls Eero Saarinen’s work.
The combination of materials—glass, metal, and dark wood along with the clea, angular lines gives the table a contemporary, almost sculptural look, suitable for modern or minimalist interiors. .
The triangular support structures (visible below the glass) contribute a tensegrity-like feel, where balance and tension seem to hold the design together, even if purely decorative. This adds an extra layer of visual interest and utility.
On a personal note, this project represents my inaugural serious design endeavor during my college years. It was an incredible opportunity, as my class was selected to showcase our designs at the prestigious Milan Furniture Show, specifically in the "Salone Satellite" pavilion, which is dedicated to emerging designers and students. Our furniture collection, titled Huaico, was presented in a series of small exhibitions leading up to the Milan event.
The table features a geometrically expressive form, combining sharp angles with sweeping curves.
The overall shape of the tabletop resembles a canoe or surfboard, with a broad center and tapered ends, suggesting motion and dynamism even while static.
There’s a strong emphasis on symmetry along the central axis, which adds to the visual harmony.
The table has metal wire legs in a V-shaped configuration, giving it a light, floating appearance while maintaining stability. These legs connect to the frame at the corners and then angle inward.
Lower Shelf: Beneath the glass top is a curved, dark shelf, which also features a metal geometric accent mirroring the triangular forms seen in the design. This adds an extra layer of visual interest and utility.
Glass Top: The transparent glass surface is inset into the Mahogany frame, tempered for safety. It allows full visibility of the sculptural elements beneath, making the table feel light and open.
Wooden Frame: The border surrounding the glass appears to be Mahogany hardwood , finished in a semi-gloss sheen. Its rich tone adds warmth and contrast against the glass and metal.
Lower Shelf: This element is curved downward and made fromcomposite wood with a Mahogany hardwood veneer , serving as both a functional storage surface and a key aesthetic component.
Metal Accents: Thin, polishedstainless-steel rods serve as structural legs and accent brackets. Their angular, bent form contributes a mechanical, almost architectural quality.
This coffee table is a statement piece, likely designed for upscale, design-conscious interiors. It bridges functionality and artistic form, inviting conversation while maintaining usability. It would feel at home in:
