Vehicles Restorations

Reviving vehicles to their former glory

My journey into vehicle restoration began with my father, who would often immerse himself in the intricate world of his beloved jeeps, particularly a 1972 Jeepster Commando. Watching him "play" with these machines ignited a passion for vehicles within me from a young age. As I grew older and gained the necessary skills, I took on the responsibility of restoring that very Jeepster Commando. This project became my education and my playground. Dismantling the vehicle piece by piece, I meticulously restored the chassis, engine, bodywork, and interior. This hands-on experience not only deepened my understanding of automotive mechanics but also solidified my love for the craft before I officially entered the automotive industry.

Before the advent of the vast amount of information available online, manuals were the primary source for obtaining essential details about vehicles and their repairs. Today, accessing comprehensive information about a vehicle—including user manuals, parts catalogs, service manuals, and online resources—has become significantly easier. This wealth of information empowers vehicle owners and technicians alike to make informed decisions regarding maintenance and repairs.

Restoration of a vehicle refers to the process of restoring a vehicle to its original condition. Neither updating nor modifying are considered part of the restoration process. A restored vehicle is one that has had all of its systems and/or parts restored to original condition.

A comprehensive restoration includes not only the visible elements—such as the body, trim, chrome, wheels, and passenger compartment; but also the less apparent components, including the engine and engine compartment, trunk, frame, driveline, and various ancillary parts like the braking system, accessories, engine cooling system, and electrical system.

Repairs are undertaken to address both obvious issues and cosmetic concerns. For instance, even if a wheel is concealed by a full hubcap and remains structurally sound, it is essential to dismount the tire and carry out any necessary repairs. This may include rust removal, straightening, priming, and painting to ensure that every aspect of the vehicle meets the highest standards of quality and aesthetics.

What sets me apart is my precise approach. My methodology process always begins with a deep understanding of the challenge at hand. Plan every step of the restoration process, have a designated budget for the major milestones of the project, but like in any restoration, sometimes you encounter very costly surprises. But the end result is worth every penny.
